ACUS

Putting Control back in the hands of pilot

real-time drone detection. real time impact.

ACUS (Airborne Counter Unmanned Aircraft Systems) is an aircraft-mounted drone detection and tracking system designed specifically for public safety and law enforcement aviation units. As drones become more accessible, the risk of mid-air collisions and unauthorized airspace intrusions continues to grow—threatening critical operations like search and rescue, surveillance, and disaster response.

ACUS fills a vital gap in situational awareness by providing pilots with real-time alerts and precise geolocation of nearby drones and their operators, helping agencies protect their missions, personnel, and the communities they serve.

why acus

As drone usage continues to rise, so does the risk they pose to public safety and law enforcement aviation. Unauthorized drones in restricted airspace can disrupt critical missions, damage aircraft, and endanger lives. That’s why solutions like ACUS are essential.

Recently, a drone struck a rescue helicopter in Kerr County, Texas, leaving the aircraft grounded during one of the deadliest flash floods in Texas history. Drones are becoming more of a problem, and it’s time to address the issue.

By providing real-time detection and geolocation of nearby drones and their operators, ACUS gives pilots the situational awareness they need to respond safely and effectively—helping ensure the safety of both flight crews and the communities they serve.

Product features

ACUS is the first aircraft-mounted drone detection system designed specifically for public safety and law enforcement aviation. Engineered to provide real-time 360-degree awareness, ACUS identifies unauthorized drones in the surrounding airspace and pinpoints the location of their operators on the ground.

HOW IT WORKS

ACUS Detection with Skyview MPV3 on SHOTOVER ARS 750 showcases how ACUS integrates advanced UAS detection directly into the mission system display. The interface adds a UAS icon box for notification and interrogation, which turns red when the RF detect system identifies a drone. SHOTOVER automatically generates alert messages when a UAS is within 1KM of the aircraft, ensuring crews have immediate awareness of nearby threats. The system also plots and displays the UAS on the map, including make and model when available, and shows pilot location when within map scale, providing operators with actionable intelligence to enhance safety and mission success.
